Death & Infections at the Hands of My Seniors' Caregivers
There is a morbid danger lurking within a place that is trusted by adults everywhere—nursing homes. Imagine placing your mother, father, grandmother, grandfather or elderly aunt or uncle in the supposedly comforting and nurturing environment of a nursing home, without being able to ensure they are receiving the care they need.
Now imagine your loved one coming down with a potentially deadly illness while under the care of the very people to whom you entrusted their lives. Unfortunately, this paralyzing fear proved to be a horrifying reality for me.
My name is Lee Nola Hall West, and my passion for exposing abuse in nursing homes started when my mother caught MRSA while living in a nursing home in February 2014. While rooming with my mother, my grandmother also contracted the MRSA in September 2014. My grandmother went temporarily blind for a week as a result of the infection, and was also severely malnourished and passed away after being rushed to the hospital on December 18, 2014.
Why are we so complacent about subjecting our elders, the wisest members of society, to this type of systemic abuse? Why do we feel this is right, and why is no one causing an uproar over this? I, for one, am attempting to combat nursing home abuse everywhere, but I cannot succeed without your help. Georgia’s 350 nursing homes are currently monitored via unannounced surveys by less than 40 inspectors spread out throughout the state, which is a disgrace.
Even though my Mother is living at home, I will always keep up the fight against Nursing Home Abuse. THIS IS MY COMPASSION!!! Sadly, to say that the cover up, neglect and malpractice extends beyond the boundaries of a nursing home, I realized this after my Mother Annie Doris Hall returned home from the Joe-Anne Burgin Nursing Home (321 Randolph Street, Cuthbert, Georgia 39840) by observing how deceptive some Home Health Agency (VNA) operates. For an example, the home health nurses verbally stated to me that Momma's culture of her Gastric Peg Feeding Tube Site of entrance was negative for infection. When, in fact, Momma continue to have MRSA, and has also been diagnosed with having CELLULITIS INFECTION. This demonstrates how they are all cohorts together. Entrusting lives to medical professionals like these, is like trusting a fox into a hen house. We all know that the fox will cause the hen great harm. When will justice prevail against these heinous crimes that are being committed against humanity? The jails, penitentiaries and prisons are filled to the capacity because of criminal acts that are being committed for far less than those of these nursing home crimes. Look at how Joe-Anne Burgin Nursing Home! Teresa Bryant, Administrator, starved my sweet Grandma Mrs Rosa B. Kinsey Hall to death. Also, Mrs. Bryant took my mother off four (4) of her medications, and placed her in the care of hospice. Medical records are being falsified. I ask the question: what will the results show from an autopsy of an exhumation ff a Precious Soul that died while being in the care of a Nursing Home? WHEN WILL THERE BE JUSTICE FOR THEM ALL?

Fort Gaines Health and Rehab Nursing Home (101 Hartford Road, Fort Gaines, Georgia 39851) allowed my mother's Diabetes to rise over 740, and put her in a Diabetic Coma. She also was Dehydrated, had an Urinary Tract Infection and her Eyesight was affected. The hospital doctor told our family that Momma probably wouldn't live through that night.
After a News Special Report coverage aired on a "Case of MRSA found at nursing home, " a complaint was filed pertaining to my Momma Annie Doris Hall, and I complained face to face with Cathy (I do not know her last name), R.N. She was an inspector with Healthcare Facility Regulation Division of Georgia. The Joe-Anne Burgin Nursing Home continued to withhold several of momma's medications -- Albuterol Sulfate being one of them. This medication is for momma having Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Look how Momma is wheezing!
There a lot of side effects to having Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA). Red infected eyes and a Sty on eyelid are side effects on someone having MRSA. This is a disgrace for my grandmother, Mrs. Rosa B. Kinsey Hall, to have become emaciated like this. This is her arm and the round pink spot is where and abscess was. Grandma literally lost her life due to the "NEGLECT and MALPRACTICE" of Joe-Anne Burgin Nursing Home. Only God Jehovah and Jesus Christ knows the extent, to how many lives that's been lost. Due to this barbaric and heinous crime called NURSING HOME ABUSE. That is running rampantly!!! Nothing is being done to protect the patients. (EXODUS 20:13 - You shall not murder.)
I noticed momma's left big toe nail was puckering up and the toe swollen. I reported my findings to her nurse. Later that day, the toenail was removed by John Chitoh, N.P. Momma was a patient/resident at Joe-Anne Burgin Nursing Home, 321 Randolph Street, Cuthbert, Georgia 39840.
This is actually the Mushroom Gastric Peg Feeding Tube. It was yanked out of my momma's stomach. This type of feeding tube has an round firm end, it's not like that of the balloon end feeding tube, where you can deflate that kind and easily remove the tube. I retrieved this tube from the trash can after the hospital worker threw it away. The Mushroom Gastric Peg Feeding Tube was yanked out at Pioneer Community Hospital, 11740 Columbia Road, Blakely, Georgia 39823. The Fort Gaines Nursing Home uses Pioneer Community Hospital for procedures and sent my momma (Annie Doris Hall) there for feeding tube replacement.
It seems as if Joe-Anne Burgin Nursing is comfortable with causing someone to become gravely ill and die. Because why would they deny my grandmother, Mrs Rosa B. Kinsey Hall, medical attention? On several visits to see momma and grandma, grandma's Intravenous (I.V.) would be disconnected or it would be placed on hold.

She died from an infection, and its complications. She was my mother's roommate at Joe-Anne Burgin Nursing Home. Momma was diagnosed with having " MRSA. " At Joe-Anne Burgin Nursing Home, Dr Abdollatif S. Ghiathi, Teresa Bryant (Administrator), Lindsay Bentley, R.N. (Director of Nursing) D.O.N, Sharon Stockings, R.N., Carla Patterson, LPN, Ombudsmen, and Healthcare Facility Regulation Division knew about this case of MRSA and failed to properly treat it. "They will not tell you the truth." There needs to be better laws to protect and care for all the patients/residents in these Healthcare Facilities. We don't have to look over any borders for enemies because we have them right here -- they're home grown!!! In this this great United States of America, look at how deadly some of these Nursing Homes are being operated. Or, how our healthcare is failing, such as doctors offices, nursing care facilities and hospitals. Look at how some of these doctors are lying; by saying your tests are normal, knowing that they are not. To prove my point, I welcome any tests to be performed on my mother, Mrs. Annie Doris Hall. She can be tested for any kind of infection, I, Lee Nola Hall West, gladly welcome any test. The way the system is set up, it is designed so that you can't even see a medical specialist until you get a referral from another doctor. My daddy, Mr. Willie L. Hall, was never in a nursing home, but I would like show what killed him. My daddy was prescribed Zocor by Dr. William Danny King, 324 Macon Street, Eufaula, Alabama 36027. Some medications require regular routine laboratory work to be done on the patient, so what happened here in my daddy's situation? Why wasn't any laboratory work done on my daddy?
My husband and I took my daddy to Flowers Hospital, 4370 West Main Street, Dothan, Alabama 36305. I will forever be grateful to the Flowers Hospital staff for caring for him. My daddy was hospitalzed for 11 days. So much infection was in his body, that the blood hemolyzed (jelled up) during testing. My daddy's defibrillator shocked him five times, and his Alkaline Phospatase was very high: 347. Daddy's Sputum Test, tested positive for a few white blood cells and a few gram Cocci. It was presumed that intolerance to Zocor was associated with his illness. After testing, we learned that my daddy had Carcinoma Pancreas Cancer and it had spread. My daddy died eight months after learning he had cancer. I LOVE AND MISS MY DADDY SO MUCH !!!
